AP Minister Seeks Centre’s Support on Defence Projects, Calls for Passenger Bus Safety Law

Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister P. Bharath has invited Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to the State for the launch of upcoming defence-related projects. During his visit to New Delhi, Bharath briefed Rajnath Singh on the State’s progress in attracting defence investments and requested his participation in inaugurating key facilities that are nearing completion.
He also met Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, urging him to introduce a ‘Passenger Bus Safety Act’ in light of the recent rise in road accidents involving buses. Bharath stressed the need for stricter norms on vehicle maintenance, driver training, and highway safety to reduce fatalities. He assured the Centre that Andhra Pradesh would fully cooperate in implementing enhanced safety standards aimed at protecting passengers and improving public transport reliability.
