Andhra Pradesh Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu responded to recent comments by TDP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy , who challenged Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the issue of granting opposition status to the YCP. The Speaker addressed the matter on social media, urging YCP MLAs to participate actively in the Assembly rather than focusing on political disputes.
He specifically requested 11 YCP legislators to attend the Assembly sessions and concentrate on discussing public welfare and pressing issues affecting their constituencies . Speaking as the presiding officer, Patrudu emphasized that he ensures equal opportunities for all MLAs to voice their concerns and participate in debates.
The Speaker’s message aimed to shift attention from political rhetoric to constructive legislative work . By encouraging active participation, he hopes the Assembly can function effectively, with debates centered on the development and welfare of the people of Andhra Pradesh, rather than partisan conflicts.
