Army Chief Dwivedi: Operation Sindoor Ongoing, Any Misadventure Will Be Met Decisively
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday said that Operation Sindoor remains ongoing and warned that any misadventure by adversaries would be dealt with effectively by the Indian armed forces. Addressing a gathering in New Delhi, he underlined the Army’s high state of preparedness and its capability to respond decisively to evolving security challenges.
Gen. Dwivedi said the operational environment continued to demand alertness, particularly along sensitive borders. Referring to the eastern sector, he noted that the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China had remained stable, but emphasised that constant vigil was essential to maintain peace and security. He added that confidence-building measures and military-level engagements were continuing to manage the situation.
The Army chief highlighted that modernisation, jointness among the three services, and enhanced surveillance capabilities were strengthening India’s defence posture. He reiterated the Army’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and ensuring peace and stability along all borders, while remaining ready to counter any threat swiftly and decisively.
