The *Arogyasri services* in the state have been completely suspended due to over *₹1,400 crore* in pending payments from the government. The *Arogyasri Network Hospitals Association* has demanded immediate payment of the outstanding dues and announced the halting of medical services until further notice. This sudden development has caused significant distress to the poor and middle-class citizens of the state.
In response, *Health Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha* urged private hospitals to continue offering *Arogyasri services* without disruption. He appealed to the hospitals to respect the autonomy given to them and questioned why they were halting services now when they had never done so in the past. The Minister also pointed out that during the previous government’s tenure, the release of payments to private hospitals under *Arogyasri* was inconsistent, with only *₹50 crore* being provided monthly. However, after taking office, he committed to *₹100 crore* monthly payments, assuring the public that no disruption in services would occur.
