Arunachal Spy Racket Exposed after state police uncovered a major espionage network operating in sensitive regions. Two men from Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district have been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan.

Police identified the accused as Ejaz Ahmad Bhat and Bashir Ahmad Ganai. Officials said both men collected strategic and security-related information from Arunachal Pradesh and shared it with handlers based in Pakistan.

Inspector General of Police Chukhu Apa said the arrests were made on December 18 in Kupwara. The accused were later brought to Arunachal Pradesh on transit remand and remain in police custody.

The case surfaced after police arrested Nazir Ahmad Malik and Sabir Ahmad Mir from Itanagar on November 21, based on intelligence inputs. Another suspect, Hilal Ahmad, was detained from Aalo town while running a garment shop. He was later released due to lack of evidence.

According to investigators, the accused posed as blanket sellers. This cover allowed them to travel freely and gather sensitive information. A special team led by Itanagar SP Jummar Basar cracked the network.

Police are awaiting forensic reports of seized devices. Further arrests remain possible as questioning continues. Authorities urged citizens to ensure police verification before renting property to outsiders.
