Former Karnataka minister Ashok on Sunday alleged a ₹2,500-crore bribery racket operating within the State’s Excise Department, demanding the resignation of Excise Minister R.B. Thimmapur. He claimed that the scandal involved high-level officials and influential individuals who allegedly manipulated licenses, permits, and other excise-related processes for personal gain.
Ashok urged the government to initiate a thorough investigation and called for the immediate suspension of officials implicated in the alleged racket.
