Kadapa: YSRCP MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy lashed out at the coalition government for ignoring the severe onion price crash, accusing it of failing to support struggling farmers. Speaking after meeting the Kadapa District Collector along with party leaders, he demanded immediate implementation of the ₹1,200 MSP for onions, noting that prices have plummeted to ₹500 per quintal.
Avinash alleged that while the government announced an MSP, it was never enforced, allowing middlemen to exploit farmers. He said many farmers were abandoning their crops due to heavy losses. Criticizing Pawan Kalyan, Avinash remarked, “How would someone living in Hyderabad know the condition of Andhra Pradesh’s roads?”
He also accused the government of misusing police machinery to harass YSRCP leaders and stifle opposition activities. District president Ravindranath Reddy added that officials were neglecting farmers, warning that continued apathy could drive many to suicide.
