Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay visited Ayodhya today as part of his official visit to India, where he offered prayers at the newly constructed Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
The Bhutanese leader, accompanied by his wife and an official delegation, was warmly welcomed by the Uttar Pradesh government upon arrival. After a traditional welcome ceremony, PM Tobgay proceeded to the Ram Temple, one of the most significant religious sites for Hindus worldwide. There, he performed a special prayer ceremony, paying his respects to Lord Ram, symbolizing his reverence for the temple and India’s rich religious heritage.
This visit is part of a broader effort to strengthen cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Bhutan. PM Tobgay’s stop in Ayodhya is seen as a demonstration of Bhutan’s deep respect for Indian spirituality, and his prayers at the Ram Temple are reflective of shared values between the two nations.
Following the visit to the Ram Temple, PM Tobgay also made a brief stop at Hanumangarhi Temple, another revered site in the city.
Ayodhya, known for its deep historical and religious significance, continues to attract high-profile visitors from around the world. PM Tobgay’s visit further underscores the growing cultural exchange between India and Bhutan, reinforcing the longstanding ties between the two nations, both at the political and cultural levels.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Ayodhya also included discussions on enhancing regional cooperation and boosting tourism and trade between the two countries.
