Ayyanna Patrudu Highlights Rising Role of Cybersecurity in Governance
Senior TDP leader Ayyanna Patrudu on Monday stressed the growing importance of cybersecurity in modern governance, noting that governments must adapt to increasing digitalisation and online threats. Speaking in Vijayawada, he said the rapid adoption of digital platforms for public services had improved efficiency but also exposed systems to cyber risks.
Ayyanna Patrudu emphasised that safeguarding sensitive government data and citizens’ personal information was now a key responsibility of the administration. He called for stronger cybersecurity frameworks, regular audits, and capacity-building programmes for officials to prevent data breaches and cyberattacks.
He also underlined the need to create public awareness about safe online practices, especially as more citizens rely on digital services for payments, certificates, and welfare schemes. According to him, investment in advanced technology and skilled cybersecurity professionals is essential to ensure trust in e-governance initiatives. He said effective cybersecurity measures would strengthen governance, protect institutions, and support the State’s digital transformation goals.
