BJP MP from Shivamogga, B.Y. Raghavendra, accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of trying to damage India–China relations through his statements. Speaking to the media on February 7, 2026, Raghavendra said such remarks could harm India’s image at the international level.
He also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was unable to reply to the debate on the motion of thanks to the President in the Lok Sabha for the first time. According to him, this happened due to the behavior and protests of opposition party members in the House.
Raghavendra said the opposition disrupted proceedings instead of allowing healthy discussion. He added that Parliament should be used for serious debate on national issues rather than constant interruptions.
The BJP MP urged opposition leaders to act responsibly and respect parliamentary traditions. These comments come amid ongoing political tensions between the ruling party and the opposition in Parliament.
