In Bihar, Bahubali leader Anant Singh JDU nomination created excitement ahead of the elections. Before filing his papers, the strongman from Mokama visited a temple and prayed for victory. The Anant Singh JDU nomination marks his return to active politics under Janata Dal (United), even before the party officially announced its candidates.
Anant Singh, known as ‘Chhote Sarkar,’ has a long history with the Mokama seat, having served as MLA several times. Photos from the day showed hundreds of his supporters joining him as he performed puja rituals. Special food arrangements were made at his residence for his followers who came to show support.
Interestingly, Anant Singh’s wife, Neelam Devi, had won the 2020 election from Mokama on an RJD ticket but later supported the NDA government in 2024. Confident and determined, Anant Singh announced he would contest again from his traditional seat on a JDU ticket. His supporters believe his stronghold in Mokama will help him secure an easy win once more.
