Rajanna Sircilla: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar strongly opposed the Telangana government’s decision to temporarily close the Vemulawada Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple for expansion and development works. He criticized officials for suggesting that devotees offer “Rajanna mokkalu” (vows) at the Bheemanna Temple, calling it an insult to devotees’ sentiments.

Sanjay warned the government not to hurt religious beliefs, declaring, “If the temple doors are closed, we will tie our waistbands and open them ourselves.” He gave the state two days to withdraw the decision, threatening agitation if it failed to do so.

During a teleconference with BJP workers, Sanjay said governments come and go, but they will stand by devotees. He alleged the move to close the temple was politically motivated, not for genuine development, and urged the public to unite against any attempt to suppress religious sentiment.
