The issue of Bangladeshi Rohingya infiltration has pushed the Union Home Ministry to take strict steps in Bihar. Officials raised concern over Bangladeshi Rohingya infiltration in seven border districts and asked local authorities to submit a detailed action plan soon.
The districts include West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj. Authorities will review border security, identify illegal residents and improve surveillance in sensitive areas.
District officials will coordinate with central agencies and security forces. They will also track suspicious movements and verify documents more strictly. Senior officers must send regular progress reports to the Centre.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah plans to review the situation during his upcoming visit to Bihar. The Centre wants strong coordination between state police and border forces to prevent illegal crossings and maintain law and order
