A devastating road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Barwani district turned a joyous wedding celebration into an atmosphere of deep sorrow. The incident occurred late Wednesday night on the Pati–Bokarata Road near an electricity pole, where an unidentified speeding vehicle collided head-on with a motorcycle, killing two men on the spot.
The victims have been identified as Kailash, son of Shankarlal Rathore, who was the groom’s father, and Ramu, son of Shivji Rathore, a close relative. Both had been returning home after distributing wedding invitations among relatives when the tragic collision took place. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle was completely crushed, and both men sustained fatal injuries.
Local villagers immediately informed the police, after which a team from Pati Police Station reached the location and transported the bodies to the Pati hospital for further procedures. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation to identify the vehicle and the driver involved in the accident.
According to family members, the wedding celebrations were scheduled to begin soon, but the sudden and tragic loss forced the family to prepare two funeral pyres instead. The entire village is in mourning as police continue to examine roadside evidence to trace the accused driver.
