Bengaluru’s B-Khata to A-Khata Drive Begins November 1
The Karnataka government has announced a major 100-day campaign starting November 1 to convert B-Khata properties into A-Khata in Bengaluru, under the banner ‘Your Property, Your Right’. This initiative aims to regularize thousands of properties currently under the B-Khata category, which denotes properties that are not fully approved under the municipal legal framework. A-Khata, on the other hand, allows full legal ownership, access to loans, and building approvals.
The campaign will simplify procedures, reduce red tape, and offer citizens a streamlined process to upgrade their property status. Officials have assured that property owners with necessary documents and tax records can apply for conversion without facing unnecessary delays. The move is expected to benefit homeowners, boost civic revenue, and bring more properties under legal compliance. The government sees this as a step toward transparency, accountability, and improved urban governance in Bengaluru.
