A BTech student, Udit Gayaki, died after an alleged police beating in Bhopal, triggering outrage and legal action. The post-mortem revealed over a dozen injuries, with blunt-force trauma to the abdomen causing fatal damage to his pancreas.
Madhya Pradesh police have registered a murder case against constables Santosh Bamaniya and Saurabh Arya. CCTV footage shows one constable hitting Udit while the other held him down. The two officers have been suspended, but no arrests have been made so far.
The incident occurred when Udit was returning from a party. His family is demanding justice, and public pressure is mounting for swift action.
Police have confirmed that the officers involved admitted to using force but claimed they had no intention to kill. Authorities say a full investigation is underway and arrests are expected soon.
The case has intensified scrutiny of police conduct in Madhya Pradesh.
