Bihar AQI Today: Pollution Spike Pushes Patna Into ‘Very Poor’ Category

Bihar AQI Today showing heavy smog in Patna city

Bihar AQI Today has become a major concern as cold weather and thick fog pushed pollution levels sharply upward. On Wednesday morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Patna touched 335, placing the city in the very poor category. Bihar AQI Today also showed Patna recording a higher pollution level than Delhi, which makes the situation even more worrying.

The CPCB report showed that several other cities in Bihar also struggled with poor air quality. Places like Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Hajipur, Ara, Munger, Bihar Sharif, Araria, Rajgir, and Buxar recorded AQI levels above 200. Experts warn that breathing such polluted air for long hours can cause coughing, breathing issues, and other respiratory problems.

At 7 a.m., major readings included: Araria 218, Ara 217, Bhagalpur 280, Bihar Sharif 259, Gaya 221, Hajipur 214, Munger 269, Muzaffarpur 206, Patna 335, Rajgir 248, and Saharsa 185. An AQI above 300 is considered very poor and requires immediate caution.

People are advised to stay indoors during peak hours, wear masks outside, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity until conditions improve.
