The Bihar BJP CM race has gained attention in Bihar politics. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may soon step down after taking oath as a Rajya Sabha MP. This move could allow the BJP to lead the next NDA government in the state.
The Bihar BJP CM decision now rests with the BJP leadership. Party leaders must select a legislative party leader in the state assembly. The alliance usually chooses the chief minister from that position.
At present, Samrat Choudhary serves as the BJP legislative party leader and deputy chief minister. His role makes him a strong contender for the chief minister’s post.
Another deputy chief minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, also remains in discussion. However, Samrat Choudhary holds a higher position in the party structure.
The BJP leadership may also consider other senior leaders. In that case, the party could first elect a new legislative party leader. NDA MLAs would then support that leader as chief minister.
Political observers believe Samrat Choudhary currently leads the race for the top post in Bihar.
