Amid the ongoing Bihar bulldozer action, tension rose in Kishanganj when a crowd clashed with the municipal team during an encroachment removal. Local residents opposed the operation, and the Bihar bulldozer action triggered strong reactions in the Kalu Chowk Mela Ground area. Many people gathered and created chaos as officials tried to clear the land.
The situation soon turned violent. Municipal Council staff member Amin Kamlesh Kumar, JCB driver Kripa Kumar, and tractor driver Nadeem suffered injuries. They received treatment at Sadar Hospital. The mob also damaged the JCB while throwing stones at the team.
Eyewitnesses said the crowd became uncontrollable. Amin suffered serious back injuries from a sharp-edged weapon, while the drivers also got hurt. A video of the incident is available, and police are identifying the attackers.
Some locals alleged bias in the removal drive. They claimed that officials targeted only a few houses while others built on government land were ignored. This anger increased the tension.
A police team led by the SP acted quickly and safely moved the municipal staff and vehicles. Officials said an FIR will be filed once a written complaint is submitted.
