Bihar Mafia Action Drive has entered a tougher phase after Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary took charge. He said the Bihar Mafia Action Drive will target 400 identified mafia members involved in sand, liquor, and land crimes. Their properties will be seized, and police teams will act without delay.
He added that strict steps will be taken inside prisons as well. The government has set up a system to supply food within the jails. Outside food will be allowed only with a doctor’s approval. Officials will investigate how mobile phones enter prisons. Any misuse will face quick action.
Chaudhary said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s model of good governance will continue. He stressed three goals—good governance, strong action against mafias, and speedy trials. He also warned that abuse on social media will face legal action. Bihar Police will act against anyone spreading threats or hate.
A Pink Mobile Unit will patrol around schools and colleges to stop harassment. This team will work during opening and closing hours. After assuming office, Chaudhary held a long meeting with senior officers, former DGPs, and top police officials to review crime data and policing needs.
