Bihar Death Certificate Fraud: Gaya Woman Declares She Is Alive

Bihar death certificate fraud case involving living woman in Gaya

A shocking case of Bihar death certificate fraud has put the Gaya Municipal Corporation under strong scrutiny. The issue began when Meena Devi, a resident of Ward 17 in Gurudwara Gosaibagh, stepped forward and said she is alive. She said her elder son, Dilip Kumar, used false documents to get her death certificate. She repeated that she is fully alive and blamed serious negligence. She said she will file a complaint soon.

This Bihar death certificate fraud went through many stages. Dilip claimed she died naturally on February 28, 2024. Ward councillor Soni Devi later certified the same on her letterhead. On June 5, Dilip also took an affidavit from the Executive Magistrate.

An application for the certificate was filed on June 8. Later, investigator Dhirendra Kumar visited the area. Two local witnesses supported the claim and submitted Aadhaar cards. After block-level checks, the file reached the corporation on September 11.

Meena Devi’s younger son, Dharmendra Kumar, asked for full action. He said Dilip tried to declare himself the only child to grab property. He demanded action against all officials and witnesses involved.

Municipal officials now say an investigation will begin and legal action will follow.
