Bihar confirmed Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha as Deputy Chief Ministers again. The BJP legislative party met in Patna and chose both leaders for the new NDA government. This decision shows the BJP’s plan to keep its leadership stable.
Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha became the leader and deputy leader of the BJP legislative party in 2024. Soon after, they were appointed Deputy Chief Ministers. Their re-appointment now shows the party’s trust in their work.
Senior BJP observers, including Keshav Prasad Maurya and Arjun Ram Meghwal, reached Patna to guide the selection process. The party also noted that five BJP leaders, including Sushil Modi, have served as Deputy Chief Ministers in earlier NDA governments.
Sushil Modi worked closely with Nitish Kumar and served as Deputy Chief Minister for 11 years. After the 2020 elections, the BJP moved him to the central government and selected Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi as Deputy CMs. When Nitish Kumar returned to the NDA in 2024, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha took charge. They will continue in these roles in the new government.
