Bihar Election 2025: Voting Time Changed for Five Constituencies in First Phase

Bihar Election 2025 voting time

Voting for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections will be held tomorrow across 18 districts for 121 seats. The Election Commission has changed the Bihar Election 2025 voting time for five constituencies. Usually, polling is from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., but in these areas, it will end at 5 p.m.

The five seats affected are Simri Bakhtiyarpur and Mahisi in Saharsa district, along with Tarapur, Munger, and Jamalpur in Munger district. Additionally, in the Suryagarha Assembly constituency, 59 specific booths—such as 168 to 169, 228 to 229, 231 to 234, and others—will also follow the 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. Voters here will have one hour less to cast their votes, so early participation is advised.

November 6 has been declared a paid holiday across the state to encourage voter turnout. Employees in government and private sectors can take paid leave to vote. The Election Commission has also clarified that 12 types of photo IDs, including Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, and Voter ID, are valid for identification at polling booths.
