Bihar Election Results 2025: NDA Surges Past Majority Mark as Counting Continues

The National Democratic Alliance crossed the majority mark early in the evening as counting continued across Bihar. Trends at 5:20 pm showed the NDA leading in more than 200 seats, while the INDIA bloc lagged behind with 54 seats. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the state would see the return of “good-governance government” within hours.

The Bharatiya Janata Party secured 19 victories and held leads in 89 more seats. The Janata Dal (United) led in 77 seats and won 10. The Rashtriya Janata Dal maintained a lead in 23 constituencies. The majority mark in the 243-seat Bihar Assembly is 122.

Bihar voted in two phases on November 6 and 11. The state recorded one of its highest voter turnouts, showing strong public engagement.

Counting began at 8 am, and the final results are expected by around 7 pm. The Election Commission has not announced a formal deadline, but most outcomes should be clear this evening.
