Bihar Elections 2025: Mayawati Vows to Fight for Dalits, Slams BJP and Congress on Reservation

Bihar Elections 2025

During the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, BSP chief Mayawati made strong remarks at a rally in Bhabua. She declared that the Bahujan Samaj Party aims to come to power by fighting for the rights of the poor and Dalits. Mayawati said that if the BSP wins enough seats, it will support the government on its own terms to ensure real development for the underprivileged.

Criticizing both the BJP and Congress, Mayawati accused the Congress of being anti-Dalit. She said Rahul Gandhi once spoke abroad about ending reservations by 2024. Despite carrying the Constitution, his party failed to honor Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with the Bharat Ratna. She also alleged that the BJP did not implement reservation proposals despite introducing them in Parliament.

Mayawati urged voters to unite and support BSP candidates, including Vikas Singh from Bhabua and Sarita Devi from Chenari. She warned that caste-driven governments are working to weaken reservations and ignore the poor.

In 2020, the BSP contested 80 seats in alliance with AIMIM and RLSP but won only one—Chainpur, whose MLA later joined the JDU.
