A bus carrying ITBP soldiers from Nalanda to Sitamarhi caught fire near Hajipur on Saturday morning, sparking panic among locals. The incident took place around 7:30 a.m. near the BSNL roundabout, close to Ramashish Chowk in the Sadar police station area.

The soldiers were returning after election duty in Nalanda when smoke began rising from the front of the bus. Acting swiftly, the driver stopped the vehicle, and the soldiers got out before the fire spread. They quickly removed their luggage and other belongings from the bus.

Local residents rushed to help and worked with the soldiers to douse the flames before they engulfed the entire bus. Their prompt response prevented a major tragedy.

Traffic on the Hajipur–Chhapra road came to a standstill for a short time due to the incident. After the situation was brought under control, the soldiers arranged another vehicle and continued their journey to Sitamarhi to resume election duties. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the mishap.
