Bihar IAS Officers Major Reshuffle Under Nitish Government

Bihar IAS officers promoted in major reshuffle

Bihar IAS officers promoted in a major administrative reshuffle on Wednesday. The Nitish Kumar government approved promotions for 50 IAS officers, including 17 District Magistrates. This large-scale move aims to strengthen governance across the state. The decision highlights how Bihar IAS officers promoted to higher roles will now handle key administrative responsibilities.

Senior officers from the 1996 batch received top pay scale promotions. Officers from the 2001 batch were promoted to the Higher Administrative Grade. The government also moved 27 IAS officers from the 2013 batch to the Special Secretary level, including the DMs of nine districts.

Additionally, 17 IAS officers from the 2016 batch have now reached the Additional Secretary grade. These include the DMs of eight districts. Several officers working on central deputation, including the AAI Chairman and CBSE Chairman, also received pro forma promotions.

This reshuffle strengthens the state administration by placing experienced officers in critical roles and creating opportunities for younger officers to take on higher responsibilities.
