Bihar Illegal Mining Crackdown: Special Task Force Formed to Target Sand and Land Mafias

Bihar Illegal Mining Crackdown task force action against sand and land mafias

The Bihar Illegal Mining Crackdown has entered a stronger phase as the state government launches a special drive against sand and land mafias. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) will now run an intensified campaign across Bihar. The Bihar Illegal Mining Crackdown aims to identify mafia networks and stop their activities quickly.

A special task force has been created under DIG Manavjit Singh Dhillon. His team will track criminals and take action without delay. The force includes EOU SP Rajesh Kumar, four DSPs, and five inspector-level officers. EOU ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan said that this dedicated team will conduct operations across the state.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister and Mines Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha warned that illegal mining of sand, soil, stone, and minerals would not continue in Bihar. He instructed strict action against officers and police station heads who failed to control illegal activities. He also announced that more police forces would be deployed to stop sand mining.

The Mines and Geology Department will request the Home Department to increase police strength further. The government wants a stronger, faster response to illegal mining and the mafias behind it.
