Starting this week, Bihar officers to hear citizen appeals every Monday and Friday at panchayats and government offices. The state government aims to make it easier for people to raise their issues directly with officials.
Under this system, officials from village panchayats to the secretariat will stay in their offices on Mondays and Fridays. Citizens can visit, submit complaints, and discuss their problems with the responsible officers. Bihar officers to hear citizen appeals every Monday and Friday is part of the Sabka Samman‑Jeevan Aasaan initiative under the Saat Nischay‑3 programme.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said this step will reduce delays caused by absent officials. Officers must address simple issues immediately and treat visitors respectfully.
Officials will keep a record of all complaints to track progress. If a senior officer is unavailable, a designated subordinate will meet citizens in their place. Offices will provide seating, water, and other basic facilities for visitors.
This move is designed to make government services more accessible and solve public problems faster, bringing officials closer to the people.
