The Bihar officials asset disclosure drive has reached a critical phase. The Home Department has ordered all government officers and employees to submit details of their movable and immovable assets and liabilities.
Under the Bihar officials asset disclosure rules, employees were first asked to update their property records by December 31. The final date for submitting full details is February 15. Officials must follow this deadline without delay.
Home Department Joint Secretary Naveen Chandra has sent formal letters to top authorities. These include the Director General of Police, all DGs, the Jail Inspector General, Railway ADG, SSP, and heads of key state departments.
The letter says asset details must be made public, as done every year. This applies to All India Service officers and employees of state government undertakings. The public disclosure deadline is March 31, 2026.
The department has also tightened salary rules. Drawing and disbursing officers must confirm receipt of property statements before releasing February salaries.
Any delay in submission may lead to salary withholding. Officials are advised to act quickly to avoid financial trouble.
