The Bihar Police violates Supreme Court order after sensitive FIRs were uploaded online despite strict directions. In several districts, officials posted FIRs related to serious crimes on the state crime records website. The issue has sparked concern as Bihar Police violates Supreme Court order meant to protect victims’ identities.
These FIRs include cases under rape and POCSO laws. The Supreme Court had clearly directed authorities not to reveal details that could expose victims. Police headquarters also instructed district units to avoid uploading such sensitive reports.
Despite repeated warnings, some reports became publicly accessible. This move raised serious questions about data privacy and the safety of victims.
The Additional Director General of Police (SCRB) has written to concerned districts and warned them about strict compliance. Senior officials have now asked for immediate corrective action to prevent such lapses in the future.
