The Bihar Rajya Sabha Election has gained momentum as BJP observer and Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma arrived in Patna ahead of the March 16 voting. Speaking to the media, he expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win all five seats in the Bihar Rajya Sabha Election.
Sharma said the NDA has strong numbers in the Bihar Assembly and does not face any difficulty in securing victory. Party leaders welcomed him at Patna Airport when he arrived to oversee preparations for the election.
Five Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar will fall vacant on April 9. The NDA has fielded five candidates from its alliance partners, including BJP, JD(U), and RLJM.
The opposition alliance has also entered the contest by fielding an additional candidate. This move has made voting necessary for the seats instead of an uncontested election.
Political leaders now expect a close contest as parties work to secure support from independent and smaller party legislators before the vote.
