Bihar recruits 60,000 positions in the Home Department as part of a major law-and-order plan, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary announced on Friday. Bihar recruits 60,000 positions including thousands of posts in police and allied forces to improve public safety across the state.
The recruitment drive will include around 31,000 police constables, 13,500 Home Guard personnel and nearly 17,000 posts in special armed and paramilitary units. The government aims to fill these posts soon to strengthen security in both urban and rural areas.
The minister also announced the formation of a “Police Didi” unit. Women officers under this initiative will focus on the safety of girls in schools and colleges. The government plans to provide scooters and motorcycles to support their work.
Officials said the department will also expand CCTV surveillance, upgrade prisons and improve emergency response systems.
