Thieves struck at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s rally in Raghopur village, Darbhanga. Despite tight security, pickpockets stole chains and mangalsutras from around 12 women. Victims realized the theft only after the rally ended. Many women broke down, seeing their jewelry worth lakhs missing.
Families and victims raised sharp questions about the failure of security arrangements. Women even blocked the main road in anger, halting vehicles of senior officials. The blockade cleared only after promises of action.
Reports say Poonam Devi lost a chain worth ₹1 lakh, while Gauri Devi, Sunita Devi, Gayatri Devi, Ramkumari Devi, and Radha Kumari also reported heavy losses. This shocking incident has left people questioning safety at political gatherings in Bihar.
