Bihar Vigilance Raid Exposes Disproportionate Assets Case

Bihar vigilance raid report on disproportionate assets case

A major Bihar vigilance raid has created tension across the state. The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) has filed a case against Aurangabad Excise Superintendent Anil Kumar for holding disproportionate assets. The Bihar vigilance raid began after the SVU received a search warrant from the Special Vigilance Judge.

Teams carried out searches at his office and houses in Aurangabad, Jehanabad, and Patna. Officials say Anil Kumar knowingly collected assets worth about ₹1,58,45,888 during his service. He served in multiple roles in the Excise Department and is accused of building wealth far beyond his legal income.

Searches are happening at several locations linked to him. These include his Jehanabad residence near Child G Public School, his Patna house at Shri Ram Nikunj, West Shivpuri, and two official locations in Aurangabad. Officers are checking documents, bank records, and property papers to estimate the full scale of the assets.

This investigation highlights growing action against corruption in Bihar. Authorities say more steps will follow after examining the seized material. The case has drawn public attention as one of the largest recent actions by the vigilance department.
