Police in Bihar have arrested a Bihar wealthy tea seller after uncovering a major drug and arms racket operating under the cover of a tea business. The raid took place in the Maner area of Patna following specific intelligence inputs. During the operation, officers seized a large quantity of illegal items.
From the premises, police recovered smack, hashish, illegal firearms, live cartridges, gold, silver, luxury vehicles, and ₹12 lakh in cash. Officials said the accused had built significant wealth while running the illegal trade secretly. The Bihar wealthy tea seller lived a lavish lifestyle that raised suspicion during the investigation.
Senior police officials said the accused was not working alone. The racket involved several family members and close associates. Women from the same household were also questioned during the probe. Investigators believe the group handled drug storage, packaging, and local distribution.
Initial findings suggest the illegal network extended beyond Bihar and had links reaching Nepal. Police said the profits from drug trafficking were invested in property and vehicles to hide the source of income.
Authorities are continuing the investigation to identify other members of the network. More arrests are expected as police tighten the crackdown on cross-border drug smuggling.
