Bihar Weather Cold Wave: IMD Orange Alert in 17 Districts, Temperature to Fall

Bihar weather cold wave alert with orange warning in 17 districts and temperature drop

Bihar weather cold wave is intensifying this weekend. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in 17 districts due to falling temperatures and dense fog. Bihar weather cold wave is expected to drop the mercury by up to 4 °C in several areas.

The districts under orange alert include Madhubani, Kishanganj, Chapra, Aurangabad, and others. Foggy conditions will reduce visibility, especially in the early morning. Patna, Muzaffarpur, and some other districts have a yellow alert for fog.

Meteorologists say strong westerly winds are bringing cold air from the northwest. Night temperatures in many places have already fallen below 10 °C. In the next two days, the temperature may drop another 3–4 °C, increasing the winter chill.

Residents are advised to wear warm clothes and stay indoors during early mornings and late evenings. Drivers should take extra care while traveling in fog. Authorities may adjust school timings if visibility worsens due to fog.
