Bihar’s first Special Economic Zone is set to bring major industrial growth to the state. The government has approved two SEZs that will be developed on 250 acres of land. These SEZs aim to attract investment and create large-scale employment. Bihar’s first Special Economic Zone will be built in Bettiah and Buxar, with each zone covering 125 acres. Land identification is complete, and work will begin soon.
The state will invest ₹225 crore to build these zones with modern facilities. The centre has also cleared SEZs in Kumarpur (West Champaran) and Nawanagar (Buxar). The Kumarpur SEZ will cost about ₹116 crore, while the Nawanagar SEZ will cost about ₹109 crore. These projects will support business growth and create over ten thousand jobs.
According to the Industry Department, Bihar’s first Special Economic Zone will have world-class infrastructure designed for smooth operations. Entrepreneurs will enjoy all essential services without hurdles. More than two dozen units can operate inside the two SEZs once completed.
Industries in these SEZs will receive tax exemptions, duty-free imports and exports, and several other benefits. These facilities are expected to encourage new companies to set up operations in Bihar, boosting the state’s economic future.
