Billionaires Treat Seoul Diners to Surprise Feast

Jensen Huang Samsung Hyundai feast

Diners at a busy fried chicken restaurant in Seoul got an unforgettable surprise when three billionaires — Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia; Lee Jae-yong, chairman of Samsung Electronics; and Chung Eui-sun, head of Hyundai Motor Group — walked in for dinner and paid everyone’s bill.

Before heading to the APEC summit in Gyeongju, the trio stopped at Kkanbu Chicken, a popular spot known for chimaek — Korea’s famous combo of fried chicken and beer. “I love fried chicken and beer with my friends, so Kkanbu is perfect, right?” Huang said with a laugh while live-streaming his visit.

They enjoyed cheese balls, fried chicken, and Terra beer with soju, even sharing food with bystanders outside. The crowd cheered when Huang rang the “golden bell,” signaling that the bill was on him. However, reports said Samsung’s Lee actually paid, and Hyundai’s Chung covered a second round.

The casual night out happened just before major diplomatic meetings at the APEC summit. There, Huang announced Nvidia’s plan to supply 260,000 GPUs to South Korean companies and partner with Samsung, Hyundai, Naver, and SK to develop “physical AI,” including smart, AI-powered vehicles.
