Bird Flu in Patna has triggered fresh concern across Bihar just ahead of Holi. Bird Flu in Patna has led officials to step up surveillance after several birds tested positive for avian influenza in different districts.
Authorities closed Patna Zoo until March 7 as a precaution. Officials said they want to protect visitors and prevent further spread among animals. Health teams have increased monitoring in affected areas.
Reports confirm the virus among crows and poultry in districts including Patna, Bhagalpur, and Darbhanga. Veterinary teams have started inspections and sample testing in nearby villages.
Officials are surveying areas within a 3-kilometre radius of outbreak spots. They have advised poultry workers and residents to avoid contact with sick or dead birds.
So far, doctors have not reported any human infection. Authorities urged people to stay alert, follow safety guidelines, and immediately inform local officials if they notice unusual bird deaths.
