Birthplace of Democracy and Talent

Democracy was born in Bihar 2500 years ago

Democracy was born on the soil of Bihar 2500 years ago in Vaishali. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan praised Bihar as a land of wisdom, where great minds like Buddha, Chanakya, Aryabhatta, and Mahavira were born. He called Bihar a land of geniuses and knowledge that has inspired the world.

Speaking at the “Unmesh: Celebration of Expression” program in Patna, the Vice President highlighted Bihar’s contribution to culture, talent, and democracy. He said Siddhartha attained enlightenment here and became Buddha, showing Bihar’s spiritual legacy.

It was his first visit to Bihar after becoming Vice President. He admired the gathering of over 500 thinkers, writers, and scholars from more than 100 languages who came together to promote culture. He also expressed happiness that Nalanda University is being revived as a global learning hub.

Calling Bihar the mother of talents, he noted that the state has given India many IAS and IPS officers. He praised Bihar’s rich artistic traditions, especially Madhubani art, which reflects the cultural depth of the state. Bihar, he said, remains a breeding ground of talent and creativity.
