BJP announces election

BJP names election in-charges for Bihar, Bengal, Tamil Nadu as the party gears up for crucial state elections. Party president J.P. Nadda announced the appointments on Thursday, September 25, 2025, signaling the beginning of an aggressive campaign push.

The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for November 2025. Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, C.R. Paatil, and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will serve as in-charges for Bihar. Their leadership underlines the importance BJP attaches to Bihar, a state that often shapes the national political mood. The party hopes to strengthen its position in the state by bringing together strong organizational skills and grassroots connections.

In Tamil Nadu, J.P. Nadda has appointed Baijayant Panda and Union Minister Muralidhar Modhol as election in-charges. The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are due in 2026, but BJP has already started preparing to expand its base in the southern state. By appointing experienced leaders, the party aims to present itself as a stronger alternative to regional heavyweights.

West Bengal, another politically significant state, will also go to polls in 2026. BJP continues to view Bengal as a key battleground after its impressive performance in recent elections. With early appointments of election managers, the party wants to fine-tune its strategy, energize its cadre, and challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress.

The announcement reflects BJP’s strategy of planning well in advance and placing senior leaders in charge of high-stakes campaigns. By focusing simultaneously on Bihar, Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, BJP is signaling that it intends to strengthen its footprint across both the Hindi heartland and the southern region.
