BJP Criticises Karnataka Deputy CM for Skipping World Economic Forum
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday took a dig at Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister for reportedly skipping the World Economic Forum (WEF) event, questioning the State leadership’s commitment to promoting investment and economic development. BJP leaders alleged that the absence of the Deputy Chief Minister from such a high-profile international platform reflects poorly on Karnataka’s efforts to attract business and global attention.
Party spokespersons said attending forums like WEF is crucial for showcasing the State’s investment potential, technological advancements, and policy initiatives to a global audience. They argued that participation demonstrates seriousness in pursuing economic growth and engaging with international stakeholders.
The BJP also criticised the State government for prioritising political agendas over development priorities and urged officials to ensure that Karnataka’s voice is represented in international economic discussions. Political analysts noted that the incident could be used by opposition parties to highlight perceived lapses in governance and missed opportunities for global engagement.
