The BJP turmoil in Bhagalpur has created a storm in Bihar politics. The party picked Rohit Pandey as its candidate for the Bhagalpur Assembly seat. This decision angered Arjit Shashwat Choubey, the son of former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey. Arjit had run in 2015 and wanted the ticket again. After being denied, he decided to contest as an independent. He even received a Nazir Receipt and plans to file his nomination on October 17.
Arjit said he has been preparing for the elections for 12 years. He wants to serve the public and focus on his constituency. Though the party ignored him, he believes people know his work. He said he will face voters with his own strength and confidence.
Meanwhile, the Vaishya community is holding private talks about the issue. Rohit Pandey, who is in Patna, said he will discuss the nomination date with party leaders soon. The BJP turmoil in Bhagalpur has revealed deep cracks in the party ahead of the elections.
