Vinod Das was coming back from a wedding when two bike-borne criminals chased him near Amarkh. They overtook his bike, stopped him, and opened fire. The bullet hit his thigh and caused severe bleeding. Locals rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors are treating him. His condition remains critical.
Police from the Maniyari station reached the hospital soon after receiving information. They collected details from witnesses and moved to the crime spot. Officers are examining CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
According to villagers, the criminals fired suddenly, and everyone nearby panicked. Police suspect the attack may be linked to election rivalry since nothing was stolen. Senior police officials met the family and assured strict action.
Doctors operated on Vinod Das to remove the bullet. Police expect to record his statement once he recovers. The investigation is ongoing, and officers say the culprits will be arrested soon.
