In the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, BJP legislators staged a sit-in protest, demanding an apology from the Chief Minister. The protest took place after the legislators, except Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, returned to the House at the end of the Question Hour.
Earlier, the BJP members had staged a walkout over the same issue, expressing their anger at the Chief Minister’s remarks or actions that they found unacceptable. The sit-in was a continuation of their protest, aimed at putting pressure on the government to respond.
BJP leaders said the Chief Minister’s conduct had hurt the sentiments of their party and constituents. They insisted that an official apology was necessary to maintain decorum in the Assembly.
The incident led to tense moments in the House, with other parties observing the protest. Officials asked for calm, and discussions resumed after the BJP members staged the sit-in.
