BJP Reminds Kejriwal of ₹1,000 Guarantee to Punjab Women

BJP Reminds Kejriwal

The ₹1,000 guarantee to Punjab women has once again returned to the centre of the political debate, as the BJP reminds Kejriwal of the promise he made before the 2022 Assembly elections. The BJP says the AAP leadership built a strong emotional connection with women through this guarantee, but the commitment still remains unfulfilled. The promise of giving ₹1,000 per month to every woman created high expectations, and the BJP claims that the delay has now turned into frustration among families across the state.

Punjab BJP working president Ashwani Sharma raised the issue strongly in a post on X. He said four years had passed since Kejriwal announced the ₹1,000 guarantee during a rally in Moga on November 22, 2021. Sharma added that women trusted this assurance, and many voted for AAP because they believed financial support would help households facing inflation. He accused AAP of ignoring the struggles of women who expected regular monetary assistance.

The BJP argues that this unfulfilled guarantee reflects a broader pattern of broken promises. Party leaders say the AAP government failed to deliver major commitments related to employment, farmers’ issues, and governance reforms. Sharma stated that the BJP does not want to let the issue fade, especially when women continue to ask about the scheme.

To increase pressure, the BJP Mahila Morcha will organise a major protest march in Chandigarh. The party plans to mobilize women from various districts and highlight the gap between AAP’s announcements and the reality on the ground. BJP leaders believe this issue will shape future political discussions in Punjab.

With the growing spotlight on the ₹1,000 guarantee to Punjab women, the confrontation between BJP and AAP is expected to intensify in the coming days.
