Blowout at ONGC Gas Well in Konaseema; No Casualties Reported
ONGC reported a blowout at its Mori-5 gas well in Konaseema, Andhra Pradesh, on Monday, officials said, adding that there were no casualties. The incident occurred near Irusumanda village in Malkipuram mandal during routine repair and maintenance work at the natural gas well.
Authorities immediately initiated safety measures, including evacuation of nearby personnel and establishment of a safety perimeter. Cooling operations are currently underway to control the gas leak and prevent any escalation. ONGC officials confirmed that international well-control experts have been engaged to manage the situation and restore normalcy.
