BMW Crash In Delhi: Businesswoman Gaganpreet Kaur Arrested For Deputy Secretary’s Death

BMW Crash In Delhi

Businesswoman Gaganpreet Kaur, whose BMW rammed into a bike in Delhi yesterday, has been arrested for the death of senior government officer Navjot Singh. Police charged her with culpable homicide, rash driving, and destruction of evidence.

Visuals from GTB Nagar showed Gaganpreet leaving a hospital with minor injuries before being escorted into a police vehicle. The 38-year-old, married to 40-year-old Parikshit Makkad, was driving the car at the time of the crash near Delhi Cantonment metro station. Parikshit, her husband and business partner, has also been named in the FIR. The couple lives in Gurugram and runs a luxury products business.

Navjot Singh, 52, worked as a deputy secretary in the Union Finance Ministry. He had visited Bangla Sahib Gurdwara with his wife, Sandeep Kaur, before the crash. On their way home, their bike was hit from behind by the BMW. Sandeep told police that the speeding car overturned after impact.

Police sources now allege Gaganpreet insisted on taking the injured couple to NuLife Hospital in GTB Nagar, 19 km away, instead of the nearest hospital. Investigators suspect she tried to tamper with evidence, as her father is linked to the hospital’s ownership. An inquiry is underway.
