World Economic Forum (WEF) President Børge Brende has praised the strength of the US economy despite global crises such as the Ukraine war and rising US-China tensions.

In an interview with India Today, Brende said earlier fears of a “hard landing” or “soft landing” for the US economy have not materialized. Instead, he described the situation as “no landing,” with growth staying strong. “The Europeans are envious of the growth in the US,” he remarked, highlighting America’s strong capital base and readiness to adopt new technologies.

Brende admitted that challenges remain, especially inflation and immigration. He linked these issues to former President Donald Trump’s political appeal, noting that both remain central in US politics. He added that America’s international agenda is becoming more complex.

Looking forward, Brende expressed confidence that the US will continue to play a key role in driving global growth. He said innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship will be the main engines of future expansion, not only for the US but for the world economy as a whole.

Despite global turbulence, Brende stressed that the US economy remains “very robust” and well positioned for the years ahead.
